9 Bean Rows: Pizza with a View
If the words roasted garlic and shaved fennel have you drooling, then head to 9 Bean Rows in Suttons Bay for an idyllic eating experience. With their open-air pizza kitchen, a menu that includes sandwiches named after employees, an amazing pastry kitchen, eating at 9 Bean Row makes for a special lunch with amazing surroundings. Plus, you can feel good about buying from this no-till farm that focuses on eliminating their carbon emissions to help offset the effects of other carbon producers in their area. Deeply Rooted Produce: Seasonal Sunday Dinners
Throughout the summer, Deeply Rooted Produce in Detroit hosted Sunday dinners highlighting the bounty of the farm. These vegetable-forward donation-based dinners featured previous menu items like blueberry “nicecream”, beet sliders, candied yams, and carrot dawgs. Each week offered an entirely new menu, so repeat visitors got to enjoy seasonal eating at its best. After a re-strategizing break, these dinners will begin again September 12th offering delivery options and monthly meet-ups, so find details and order your next Sunday dinner on their website.
Keweenaw Food Co-op: Connect with Your Local Farmers
Head to Copper Country and visit some of the area’s local farms! The 5th Annual Keweenaw Food Co-op’s Farm Tour will be Sunday, September 12th from 12noon-5pm. In Battle Creek, Sunlight Gardens is hosting a food-focused Block Party on Friday, September 17th. From yoga to a live DJ to small bites from local food businesses, like Torti Taco and Umami Ramen, this fun-filled event will be a great chance to get to know your neighbors! Pond Hill Farm: Pumpkin Party
Pond Hill Farm, while magical at any point in the year, really shines in the Fall – and they celebrate this with their Fall Fest Weekends, Sat. & Sun. from Sept. 25 – Oct. 24 11am-5:30pm!
