You’re Invited! Greater Washtenaw CSA Fair

The 2020 Greater Washtenaw County CSA Fair will be held Sunday, February 16th from 12-3 PM at the downtown branch of the Ann Arbor Public Library.

This free, family friendly event brings together farmers and producers from across the county who offer subscriptions to their farm or food business. Traditionally, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription models allow consumers to invest in a farm early in the year in exchange for a weekly share of produce, meat or other items from the farm during the growing season. CSA are a perfect way to ensure consistent access to fresh, high-quality food while supporting a local small business and developing a deeper personal connection to your food.

CSA programs vary from farm to farm, but almost all are subscription based. Members sign up in the spring to receive a weekly subscription (share) of farm fresh produce, meat, flowers or more throughout the growing season. Some farms deliver their shares to a central location and many offer pick ups at local farmers markets. Most shares cost, on average, $30-35/week. All farms run their CSA programs a bit differently so the CSA Fair is a great opportunity to meet a variety of local farmers to find a program that fits your lifestyle and needs.

New at the CSA Fair this year is the addition of a Community Supported Mead (CSM) subscription offered by Bløm Meadworks and a Local Food Meal Kit Subscription offered by Zilke Farm Kitchen.
