The Maitland Family Farm is located in the Melvin area, north of Yale Michigan. We have been farming for over 30 years and have raised our four children on the farm.

Our beef cattle are raised on grass (pasture). We have a cow-calf operation. The calves are born and raised on the farm until ready for sale.

The calves nurse on their mother's milk during the Spring, Summer and Fall. A rotational grazing program is used to provide our cows and calves with fresh pasture throughout the grass growing season.

During the winter months our livestock is fed hay and haylage which has been harvested on our farm during the summer.

We utilize organic practices in raising our animals and crops. Herbicides and pesticides are not used on our farm. Synthetic hormones, antibiotics and grain are not given to our livestock. Aged manure from our cattle and natural minerals are used to enhance the soil. Our animals live in a natural healthy environment.
